Obituary for Robert Bruce Easley

Robert Bruce "Rusty" Easley, resident of Blackwell, OK, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was 67.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Trout Funeral Home Blackwell, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home of Blackwell.

Robert was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on July 23, 1948, his parents were Vinson Glen Easley and Nada Beth Dickerson. He had one sister Cartha Cassel of Pardise Valley, Arizona.

He is married to Judy Kay Ross Easley, Rusty had four sons, Cody Easley and his wife Lesley of Blackwell, Oklahoma; Harley Gummow of Kansas City, Missouri; Terry Gummow of Blackwell, Oklahoma; Michael Quinlan of Medford, Oklahoma; three daughters, Lisa Canup of Grove, Oklahoma; Shelby Quinlan of Medford, Oklahoma; and Mickey Quinlan of Blackwell, Oklahoma.Granddaughter, Hunter Easley of Blackwell, Oklahoma; and Chord Spence of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Rusty was a Sergant Major in the Army. He was a highly decorated veteran doing two tours in Viet Nam receiving a Bronze Star, two Air Medals, two Purple Hearts amoung many other medals. He was a Soldier of The Year in 1979 an accomplishment he was very proud of. Rusty was an avid rattlesnake hunter and handler, being featured on two National Geographic Documentaries among other shows and magazine articles. He had very dear friends he did this with, Anthony and Tony Felder, Max Wooten, Virgil Pugh, his son Cody, and Russell Looper. He loved these guys like family.
